Small city. Even travel wiki says 'there is no tourist attraction to see here'.
Laid back nice small city. Liked it!


Stay: Hostel Celica (the cell)

• Hostel build in a jail. This is ONLY for experience.
• The rooms are built in jail cells - so it is not even close to being comfortable. I stayed in a single cell, paid 52EUR per night, and yet the first thing I said when I entered the room I dont want to stay here '
• It is centrally located. 10mts walk to train / bus station
• 15 minutes walk to Dragon Bridge and city center
• The most happening place in the city is your neighborhood.
• Loud (really loud) music plays until 3-4AM. Then the people partying in the pubs wants to come in the hostel and make noise until some 06.30AM. So after that you can have a good nights sleep.
• If you are a party person - this place is heaven for you.

Some gorgeous street art - highly recommend visit for a drink even if you are stayng some other place.

 

There is another nice hotel 7 minutes walk from there. Maybe Park Inn or something.


Eat: Wok the talk!

 

See the dragon bridge, city center, triple bridge during the day and night.

 

You could go to Postojna caves and the Castle in the cliff. Nothing to see inside, but its a marvel from the outside - the way it constrcuted inside the mountains.

 

Unfortunately, the best way to reach the two places is through a tour. Most convenient.

 

There are trains / buses to the caves, but to the castle, you have to book a taxi (30EUR return) or walk (7-10kms). Tour was most convenient option (65EUR)
You start at 0830 and mostly back by 1400h


2 days are enough to see both the ctity, caves and castle. If you like to patry, take one more day.
