Krakow

25.08-26.08.2017

Reaching:
I do not plan to see the concentration camp or Birkenau camp.
But the worst part was the timing of the bus from venna to Krakow. They are all in such a timely manner that you will have to stay overnight
Another challenge with booking tickets.
You are looking for a cheap bus ticket (some as low as 6 EUR), but you need a credit / visa to make booking. It is a Polish company. Better if you know someone in Poland to book it for you. As Polski does not have counter in Vienna. So if anything goes wrong - nothing you can do.
Who saves you: Fixbus. Tickets are costly but convenient to book
Did not check trains.
Bla Bla is another option.

Stay:
Hostel Pink Panther
If you are a party person - This is heaven for you
No restictions
Right in the city cntre .. with the 100 other pubs on the same street
Not the mos fancy or comfortable room, but liveable
Basic breakfast, included in prices

Directions:
From Main Coach Station RDA:

Go through the shopping mall ( Galeria Krakowska), go out of the shopping through the main entrance which is next to Zara shop then walk through the underground passage which will lead you to the old town, go straight on ( you will pass the big theatre building on your left) once you have reached Pijarska street turn left and go down Florianska street and then take the second street on the right which is Sw. Tomasza and walk down - the property will be on your right.

Most of the popular tourist attractions are located in the Old Town
Auschwitz - Birkenau camp - I dint visit - but it 's easy to find trips even if you are not booked

  • Walk down the entire Royal Way , from St. Florian's Gate, down to Floriańska, across the Rynek Główny, down to Grodzka to the Wawel Castle.
  • Listen to the Hejnał Mariacki (Trumpet Signal) while sipping coffee in the Rynek Główny. The signal is played live every full hour from the tower of St Mary's Church. Endend Tatend in suddenly in suddenly Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in Tat in 12 Tat Tat.
  • Walk around the Planty , a large park that surrounds the entire Old Town.
  • Lounge and take in the sun on the banks of the Vistula river. See the Dragon's Lair and see the dragon breathe fire.
  • Early on Sunday, go shopping at the open air flea markets at Plac Nowy and Hala Targowa. 7: 00-13: 00
  • Participate in a Mass at St. Mary's Church . The church is impressive and the devotion of the believers wants to bring you inside the real religious spirit.
  • Visit the district of Kazimierz , losing yourself in the tight streets and searching the tracks of the Jewish past of Krakow.
  • Free Walking Tour , [7]. Most of these tours meet in front of St Mary's Cathedral. There are at least two companies, both of them show the Old Town, the Macabre Krakow and the Jewish Town, among other ones.
See the man mask in the city
